Romanian, Infantry – Battle Report #5

Today we played on a 120×120 board with 60 points midwar, I have played a few 60 points game lately and they are in my opinion interesting.

My Romanian infantry was supported by T-4 tanks Facing a British tank formation with Crusaders and Grants.

The Mission today was Breakthrough and as the defender, I picked my 75mm Anti-tank platoon in ambush and my three T-4 tanks in reserve.

as the first round started the British tanks pushed fast and tried to soften my rear defenses and took a lot of space fast.
I deployed my ambush to stop the two grant platoons and luckily my T-4 reserves arrived and faced the crusaders right on.

Luckily my T-4 platoon won over the crusaders and was able to flank the Grant formations pushing the middle and with combined fire from the Anti-tank platoon the could eliminate the remaining tanks.

At the start of round four I win due to formation without commander and in bad spirits so retreated.

This match showed clearly how maneuvering and forcing the opponent to be surrounded can be devastating also that for the first time in a while I felt that the T-4 with front five actually was enough but the real lesson is that a “is hit on” value on 4+ is the greatest form off armor.

also a tried theirs 75mm artillery battery and (Anti-tank 2, Firepower 4+) is not that nice even if they have better direct fire a think I preferer the 100mm artillery with (Anti-tank 3, Firepower 3) while the direct fire is worse.

Outcome 8:1
